How to create a match-frame cut:

  • Log in to your TikTok account. Then, tap the ‘+’ button at the bottom of your screen to open the shooting page.

  • Arrange the scene you would like to shoot and position your phone.

  • Press the timer button on the right hand side of your screen. Drag the timeline at the bottom of your screen to set the length of your video clip.

  • Press ‘Start countdown’ to record.

  • Adjust the scene with the changes you would like to capture next. Check everything else is aligned with the end frame of the previous clip. For example, if your first clip ends with a tap on the phone, your next clip should start with a finger on the phone.

  • Press the timer button again. Drag the timeline at the bottom of your screen to set the length of your next clip. Press ‘Start countdown’ to record.

  • Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have recorded every version of the scene you would like to capture.

  • To make the transitions more precise, press ‘Adjust clips’ on the top right hand side of your screen. You can then edit the length of each clip by adjusting the timeline at the bottom of your screen.

  • Use the on-screen buttons to add text, stickers, filters and sounds to your video.

How to make the most of the multiply effect

Effects lie at the heart of the TikTok experience and they can be used to take your videos to a whole new level. While there are thousands of amazing effects to choose from, applying the multiply effect is one of the easiest ways to go full TikTok.
