The Objective
Founded in 1967, Hyundai is the South Korean car brand spotted on roads in every corner of the world. Hyundai is investing into a zero-emission society and promotes a cleaner future by offering a wide range of alternative powertrains. Its mission on TikTok was to generate quality leads that would book a test drive with its new all-electric IONIQ 5 model, and convert them into sales.
The Solution
Hyundai is no stranger to innovation, and its all-electric IONIQ 5 is testament to that. It’s no surprise then that the brand used TikTok as a platform to offer test drives and to create interest for the new model, capitalising on In-Feed Ads to deliver its objective. As the first automotive brand in Europe, they used the TikTok Ads Manager optimising their campaign on the lead generation objective and harnessed a short in-app form to sign up for test-driving the IONIQ 5.
One of TikTok’s most popular ad formats, In-Feed Ads, double down on engagement, sitting natively in the „For You“-feed with an organic look and feel. Precision targeting hits the target audience exactly when and where it is most relevant, whilst an external link allows the community to continue its journey on the model page after watching the ad. Hyundai collaborated with popular creators to give the campaign an authentic and native feel, drawing viewers in closer.
The Results
Delivering over 30 million video views and a reach of more than 3.8 million users, the results were brilliant. The campaign was also extremely efficient, leading to a 79% lower cost per lead compared to forecast. A brand lift study also discovered a massive 17.5% ad recall and 8.3% increase in brand awareness, showing the impact a simple yet clear campaign can have on TikTok for brands.
