HEMA, the Netherlands-founded department store, has one mission: to make daily life better, easier, and more fun. Providing everything from home & living to stationary, HEMA is famous for its good quality and good value products. To promote their back to school range ahead of the new school term, the brand came to TikTok for a targeted campaign across the Netherlands and Belgium. 

Through bright and attractive creatives, HEMA built an engaging Spark Ads campaign based on their ‘back to school’ theme. Promoting organic posts to boost curiosity while also running In-Feed Ads to capture attention, the videos used tonal graphics set with product shots from their range to show off everything a student might need for their new term. Text overlays then encouraged users to shop the collection at HEMA. 

The HEMA campaign used Spark Ads perfectly – utilising organic content to reach their target audience in a totally authentic way. The campaign reached almost half a million users, and generated more than 4 million video views across the entire flight. As a result, the brand successfully reached a very specific target audience – sparking curiosity and engagement across the community. 

A spokesperson from HEMA said: “HEMA’s goal is to be active on social platforms where we can seek our customers the best way. On TikTok we were able to reach our target audience in the most natural way possible using organic content that we boosted.”
