Generating mass awareness and consideration for ALDI SÜD

The Objective

ALDI SÜD is Germany’s favourite discount supermarket chain, renowned for getting its customers the best deals on the products they love – and for being a true innovator in its space. The brand wanted to generate buzz and cut-through with Gen Z and position ALDI SÜD as a relevant, likeable brand. It launched #MehrFürDeinGeld - a campaign created specifically for TikTok with top creators.

The Solution

ALDI SÜD chose to run a suite of In-Feed Ads, set up using TikTok Ads Manager, with a video view objective, delivered directly to the TikTok community in the ‘For You’ feed alongside other content from across the platform. Supported by their creative agency DOJO and media agency Nerds, ALDI SÜD kept the ads completely native to TikTok and collaborated with a number of popular Creators such as  @how2shirli @kenn2go @timschaecker @bene.schulz , and  @elevatormansion . Together, both ALDI SÜD and the Creators, immediately understood how TikTok works and how to inspire the community with creative, authentic and humorous videos. 

The Results

The ALDI SÜD #MehrFürDeinGeld campaign was a huge success in hitting its objective, achieving over 23 million video views in just one weekend. The engagement rate also came in at an impressive 4.2% showing just how effective it can be when a brand collaborates with the right Creators to co-create native TikTok ads.
