Founded in 2013, Revolution is the beauty brand with a mission to make beauty diverse, accessible and rule-breaking. Now the brand is aiming to expand its fan base and reach a new audience of beauty lovers on TikTok with its Gen Z make-up range, XX Revolution.
Revolution ran a suite of six In-Feed Brand Premium Ads. Working in partnership with six well-known beauty Creators, fronting the transformations, Revolution gained access to a large, existing combined following that could spread the word.
The other part to its success was its use of TikTok’s In-Feed Brand Premium Ad format. The Ad runs natively in the ‘For You’ feed, feeling subtly organic and in the best position to encourage engagement. With the Brand Premium package, the ad is also displayed within the first 100 videos a user sees and next to the most premium content in the feed, making the ad entirely brand safe.
The ad creative focused on make-up transformation tutorials and was based on a set of current beauty trends; all set to a catchy, energetic song which was developed especially for the campaign. This was smart, since tutorials are a well-known and highly-popular video trend on the beauty scene.
The campaign was a resounding success, achieving mass brand awareness and deep engagement. It generated over 2,500,000 impressions and a 13.7% engagement rate, showing that beauty fans everywhere could relate to the influencers and their content. Impressively, it also achieved a 1.25% click-through rate, meaning the wider TikTok community went on to follow-up on their journey.
