Helping French fashion brand GÉMO spread Christmas cheer with the TikTok community.
GÉMO is a French fashion brand with a difference. Designing clothes and footwear for the whole family, they create responsible products that are accessible to all and respectful to the planet. As part of a global communication campaign around its offer of Christmas sweaters, Gémo wanted to engage the TikTok community to celebrate the end of the year in a joyful and festive way.
GÉMO is one of the most popular clothing brands in France – and its Christmas sweaters are no exception. To bring the magic of Christmas to life in a fun and engaging way, GÉMO used a Branded Hashtag Challenge, #MagicNoëlByGémo, to call on users across the world to create the most entertaining video they could featuring their favourite Christmas jumper.
Pairing up with some of France’s most popular Creators, GÉMO launched its challenge through a TopView placement, driving the campaign directly into users’ For You feeds – sound-on and full screen for maximum effect. A call to action then directed the community to explore other user-generated content on the challenge page.
The #MagicNoëlByGémo challenge also announced the arrival of GÉMO on TikTok, using the campaign to launch the official brand account on the platform.
Running from December 9-14, the #MagicNoëlByGémo campaign generated some truly humorous and impressive results amongst the global TikTok community. More than 27,000 videos were created for the Branded Hashtag Challenge - receiving an incredible 100 million views - while the entire campaign yielded 2.7 million interactions for the brand.
